Owens Corning Boot Slide Test

A piece of plywood deck at a 6/12 pitch (a moderate incline,) with a #30 felt piece on top. The demonstrator holds a ten pound boot in his hand, puts it on top of the felt and it immediately slides off of the pitched deck.

Continuing with the product demonstration, there is a piece of a competitor’s synthetic underlayment #1 on the pitched deck. The demonstrator again puts the boot on top and releases his grip, this time the boot falls significantly slower than then it did when placed on product example #1 (#30 felt.)

The demonstrator repeats the same test on competitor’s synthetic underlayment #2, and the boot slides down the pitched deck almost as fast as it did on the first test (#30 felt.)

The demonstrator repeats the test again, on competitor’s synthetic underlayment #3, and the boot slides much slower the previous three tests.

Finally, the demonstrator perform the same test with Owens Corning ProArmor Synthetic Roofing Underlayment. The boot does not move. It clearly demonstrates the superior grip and traction provided by Owens Corning ProArmor Synthetic Roofing Underlayment.
